Halloween Traditions

Last night we had our Halloween tradition night.
We started it off by cleaning out and carving our pumpkin.

Here are the girls watching B cut the lid off.

Working together to pull the lid off.

Yeah, it is off...
M curiously watching her sisters reach inside the pumpkin.

It did not take her long to decide that she wanted to be a part of the action.
Then we counted the seeds (over 400) and took baths while I made a yummy dinner...
Mummy dogs (thanks Jawan).

And finished the evening off by watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
Only M wanted to play with her sisters the whole time.

Happy Halloween from our family to yours!

M's 18 month check up

M is 19 months old today!

Yesterday I took her for her 18 month well check up.
She did great and looks wonderful according to our favorite doctor.
She performed for Dr. S and kept us both laughing the entire time.
Dr. S said that she will probably be the one to give B and I a run for our money.
We have been thinking the same thing lately.

Here are her stats:
Weight 23 lbs (37%)
Height 33 1/4 in (83%)
Long and lean like her daddy...hopefully it will stay that way
She also had to get 4 shots...it was awful for both of us. I have decided that I
will never get over them having to get shots. It brings me to tears as well every time.
I just hate it, but I know that she is better off with them than without.

Brrrr.....

Last night both A and R had softball games (make-ups from 2 Saturdays ago when it was raining). It was COLD!!! The high yesterday was only about 49*, and R's game was at 6pm with A's following at 7:30. We were all bundled up. The wind made it even worse, but the hot chocolate was delicious. Both games were great and many thanks to my brother, sister-in-law and 2 nephews for watching M so that she did not have to get out in the cold.
I saw a glimpse into our future last night...us cheering the girls on in whatever they are doing despite the weather (and loving it no matter what). It also reminded me of my parents and how many games they came to to watch me cheer even though they probably would have rather been doing something else. Especially my Senior Year of high school when it rained just about every game and we went all the way to the State semi-finals....long season into December. Thanks Mom and Dad. I love you and know how much you love me too.
Have a great Wednesday!

I've Been Tagged

My friend, Melissa (The Reeder Family), tagged me.
I am supposed to tell you 7 random facts about myself.
They may not be very interesting, but here it goes:
1. I have wanted to be a mommy all of my life. I cannot
remember a time not wanting to be a mommy, and I
love every minute of it.
2. I loved being pregnant. I felt great while I was pregnant (even
with the two babies that we lost). Maybe because I could eat and not worry
about putting on a few pounds.
3. I have OCD (you are not alone Stacy). Everything has to have a place
and needs to be put back on time every time. This really drives those that
live with me crazy.
4. I LOVE to do laundry. I don't know why, but I hate to do the dishes.
5. I was President of my college soriority. Go Phi Mu!
6. I spent the summer of 1996 in Daytona Beach with a college campus ministry.
I learned a lot about Jesus, myself and that working as a maid at the Howard
Johnson hotel was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. However, I did
lose a bit of weight sweating my tail off at that job.
7. I love my family and love spending time with everyone. I have a need to be
surrounded by the ones I love any chance I can get. I love that we live close to
both sides of our family and spend time together as much as possible.
I am sure that there is more I could tell you, but I don't want to bore you anymore.
Have a great Monday.
I tag: Amy H, Amy O, Holly, Sherry, Tonya, Denise, and Morgan.
If you have already done this, don't feel the need to do it again. I am sure I stalk all of
your blogs enough to find where you posted your list.

Picking Out a Pumpkin

Wednesday night we went to pick out our pumpkin.
The girls had a good time looking through all the pumpkins to find the right one.
Here they are posing for us.
They found one, but we didn't keep it!

R being silly.

Here are a couple of M trying to pick up the pumpkin.
When that didn't work she tried to sit on them.

A getting so tall.
R is too!

We'll post more pics once we carve our pumpkin!

Family Photo

This summer we had family pictures taken. This is the best one of
the 5 of us. I just love seeing us all in one picture. Enjoy!

Sleepy Head

It is almost 10am....M is STILL asleep.
* I have gotten A and R ready for school and on the bus.
* Read the newspaper and drank my coffee
(peppermint mocha creamer - only around the holidays)
* Cleaned all 3 bathrooms (toilets, sinks, counter, mirrors, wiped down cabinets)
* changed the sheets on 3 of 4 beds (M is still in hers)
* started a load of laundry
* Put away dishes and stuff on kitchen counters
* checked email and blogs
Wow, I am going to see what else I can get done before she wakes up (or I wake her up since I am missing loving on her this morning).

Daily Chores

Here is M helping me vacuum the kitchen. Gotta train them young...hee hee.

Usually I have to carry her around when I vacuum..but this day she was all about doing it herself.

Top 5 Reasons...

...I Love Tball (Softball)

5. The first thing the girls want to know (even before the game starts) is what is for snack.
4. Watching them run...it is so cute...their heads bobble with those big helmets.
3. They have NO CLUE if they won or lost the game. At the end of the game, when they are lining up to give high 5s they always ask "Did we win?".
And even if they didn't, they DON'T care.
2. They are so excited to see who gets the game ball (and I am sure most of them lose it within 10 minutes of getting it home).
and #1. They will stop whatever they are doing during the game to wave at their parents, grandparents or even their friend who is about to cross home plate while they are supposed to be fielding the ball at home to tag the girl out. Precious. (Yes, R did this Tuesday night...I love it. She was more excited to see her friend than to care about the game).

Gotta love those little girls. They are just so adorable.

Cow Train

Here are all the kiddos (and B with M) riding the Cow Train Saturday at the Pumpkin Farm. They had a blast! 12 precious little ones under 7....

It was so HOT that day. Notice the sun in all of their eyes...my bad...sorry about that!

Pumpkin Patch/ Farm

Our family along with 5 other families headed out to a nearby Pumpkin Farm on Saturday. We had so much fun even though it was so hot out. The children enjoyed watching pig races, a hayride, riding the CowTrain, sliding down a big slide, a hay maze, playing in corn and much more. Here are just a few pictures to enjoy.

Cow Train
Big Slide
M getting ready to ride the tricycle.
A and M riding.

B and K tackling each other in the corn while E plays by them.
R leading KA and MW through the hay maze.
M feeling the water at the duck race.
KA...the soon to be Big Sister. (We are so happy for you A family).

BW and MW (brother and sister) racing ducks.
R, KA, Ma, A, and B racing ducks.
9 of the children
Waiting for the piggies to come out.
The piggies. It was really hot, so the piggies really did not want to race, but they were cute anyway. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back.

New pjs

Being the 3rd girl means that there is not too much M needs in the way of clothes and toys. However, I saw these cute pjs the other day and had to get them for her. I just love pajamas. She looks so cute, comfy and cozy in them. The rest of us just oohed and ahhed over her when we put them on her. They also make her look so much bigger.

Here she is watching Barney on TV. She just loves Barney.

Just Like Mommy

A is wearing one of my dresses. My mom saved it all these years. Isn't she cute?
I did not tell her to pose that way...this is 7 going on 25 coming out. hee hee

Kickball

Most days, M and I play outside waiting for the bus to come and bring A and R back to us. Most days, we stay outside after they get home and play....KICKBALL!!! The other day I grabbed the camera to take some pictures of the kiddos (my girls, 2 nephews and our neighbor) playing. You will also notice my sister-in-law. We have just as much fun as the kiddos do. M likes it when I pick her up and run with her...however, no pics of that sorry!

M on first base.
R on first and our neighbor getting ready to kick.

A pitching.
R waiting patiently.
T pitching to B...he likes for it to go up into the tree...anything else
(according to him) is a foul ball.
A is safe!

Here's hoping we can have a few more games before it gets to chilly out.
